I was just thinking back to when I got my wedding dress. And thought to myself that I didn't really have any problems with the shop that I got my dress through.

So this brings me to my question:
Were you happy with the treatment that you received from your Bridal Store?? What did they do right?? What did they do wrong to tick you off?? Where are they located - town, city, Canada, States, that sort of thing.

Let's share names of bridal places that we dealt with, this way newer brides that are looking for dresses can have some ideas as to what stores are good and bad.

I'll start. I was very happy with my Bridal Shop. I talked to the owner when I was thinking about buying my dress, over the phone. She was very helpful in many ways. She called the company that made my dress to ask them questions for me like if there was detail work on the bottom - for hemming purposes, or if they could make a bigger size dress that wasn't on the sizing chart. She helped me out a lot. I bought a Sincerity gown, and the name of the store I bought it at was The Wedding Party & Boutique (http://www.shopsaskatchewan.com/Saskatoon/wedding-party-boutique.htm) located in Saskatoon, SK Canada. They girls there were great when I went to pick it up. Even thought they didn't do alterations there they were very helpful with everything. I couldn't of picked a better place to get me dream wedding dress from.

I would tell anyone about this place if they were in the market for a wedding dress, bridesmaid dress, flower girl dress, anything to do with dress. They also have a great selection of wedding decorations.

I got my dress (and all my BMs got their dresses) at the House of Brides in Schaumburg, IL.

I was very happy with everything! My saleswoman, Meti, was wonderful!! She was very nice, helpful and not pushy or impatient at all. I saw her several times, even when I didn't have an appt. with her (alterations, etc.). She always stopped for a couple minutes to say hi and see how everything was. She was very professional.

The store had a ton of nice dresses to choose from. I was happy about that. Good price range. My dress and the BM dresses came exactly when they said they would, exactly as ordered. The alterations department did a great job with all the dresses too.

So my experience was great with this store!

I wish I could share the name of my bridal shop, but they have closed since my wedding. :( They were a non-profit organization whose proceeds benefited our local United Way, I believe. They were located in a nearby town, about 30 minutes away, but I made all my groomsmen rent their tuxes there (and go pick them up) b/c it was a good cause. :giggle:

Sposabella, A store in Edmonton.

I was extremely happy with them, They were very helpful.. When I went in and told them I was pregnant and wondered what to do about my dress they had it all figured out and made me feel better about the situation
If I just dropped in unexpectedly they always asked if I wanted to try my dress on and make sure everything was alright.

I got my dress, all the BM got their dresses, and any wedding I have been in before I got my BM dresses there...David's Bridal in Springfield, IL. I know some people have not had the greatest experience there, but our store...I've never had a bad experience. They are always very nice and helpful. There is one lady though (she just works in alterations though) that I did not like. I do not know what her name is, as she just kinda butted in when I was trying to talk to the lady that WAS helping me, and I just felt she acted like she wasn't going to go out of her way to help me, even though I spent A TON of money in that store. (You may see my vent about her in another of my posts:giggle:) But other than that everyone is nice, and I enjoy going to this store whenever I have wedding needs.

I also got my dress from my previous marriage from Sposabella in Edmonton Alberta.
they were absolutely amazing. i had ordered a dress in and it was in the store when i went in to tell them that i found out i was going to be 6 months pregnant the day of my wedding. they phoned the designer i had bought the original dress from to explain the situation and she accepted the dress back. they then used the deposit that we had already paid to order in a whole new dress that would work for the situation. they were absolutely amazing.

I got my dress from Carmen Fashions (http://www.carmenfashions.com/) located a few miles from my house. I loved them. I walked in after having a horrible experience at Wishing Well in East Providence. I kind of expected the same type of snide remarks, but instead was greeted with smiles and a ton of help. Everybody was so nice. Even when I wanted to change dresses they didn't care if I went back to try dresses on (I kept my dress.) The only problem I had was that the steamstress doesn't speak English (except for 'beautiful'), but man can that lady alter!!

I got mine at David's Bridal...I didn't have any problems with them...went in, tried on a few...picked the one I wanted and left the store with it...took maybe an hour. I decided beforehand to have my alterations done somewhere else because I'd heard a few horror stories about them.

I went shopping a few different places.

Touma's Bridal in Fort Wayne, IN... first place I went to try on dresses. (And where I bought the first one that I didn't end up wearing) My very first experience there was good. I had a good sales lady. She was super nice and let me take my time and really made me feel catered too. I loved the dress shop b/c it had a very upscale feel (and the dresses and their prices reflected that *heh*)

I went to another shop that is now out of business. It was just plain wrong. The owner was trying to sell dresses off the racks that had tears in them and everything! And she wasn't trying to sell them cheaply either. I mean who in their right freaking mind would pay $400-$500 for a dress with a tear in the train, fixable or not? I think I was in there a whole 5 minutes and the whole time I was bitching about how wrong everything in there was. Yeah I'm nice

2nd time I went back to Touma's is when I bought my first dress. Experience not so good. They were having a sale and were really swamped, and I got stuck with the owner as my "sales lady". Well...she's a bit of a bitch and made me feel really rushed and uncomfortable. Not like my first experience there at all. Hence probably the reason I was a bit impulsive about choosing that dress. I also heard her arguing with a groom that came in there about some tuxes and that turned me off b/c the poor guy seemed completely clueless and looking for help and she was just bitchy to him.

After I decided I wanted a different dress I went to a place called Wendy's Bridal also in Fort Wayne. They had a ton of dresses, from expensive to fairly priced. The salespeople working there were very nice and took dresses for me and helped if I needed them too but otherwise didn't hound the hell of of me. I appreciated it a whole bunch and debated getting a dress there.

I also stopped back by Touma's. Huge mistake. I told her about my previous dress from there, how I was looking for a new one now, my dilemma with the wedding being so close and she wasn't helpful at all. I tried some one and she didn't even help me with anything other than to say "you better order now! I'll take *insert x amount of dollars* now to order it." This was after I told her I even wasn't sure about the dress. She didn't care at all. She was all like "no, it is beautiful on you, I will order it for you." Ummmmmmmmm no.
When she is there, that place is definitely better suited for brides with $$$$ who know exactly what they want.

I stopped my David's Bridal and had another crappy experience. I was in the store a good 45 minutes and not one person said hello to me or asked me if I needed any help or anything, even though I saw some of them make eye contact with me and look away quickly. So I lugged big heavy dresses to a dressing room all by myself, and what was the first contact I finally got? Some bitchy lady telling me that I could not use those particular dressing rooms while I was already in one half naked. I put on my clothes and left. Seriously if that is how you want to treat your customers, go for it.

Finally I ordered my dress online.

Ebridalstore-cn on Ebay of all places (http://myworld.ebay.com/ebridalstore-21cn/)

Their dresses are custom made, I found exactly what I wanted, and they were so nice and easy to deal with which I only really found ordering my dress from China. Go figure! The only PITA was the 12 hour time difference but nothing you can do about that. I knew though if I was still up when it was business hours over there and I emailed them a question I would get a super prompt response. And if I emailed them when it wasn't business hours, I knew I would have an email back as soon as it was.

They also helped me out of a huge bridezilla/dumbass attack when I lost my corset lacing...sent me another free.

Loved them and wish I could get married again so I could order another one of their dresses

I had been to almost every store in Houston trying on dresses, because it was fun, and I wasn't sure, and I didn't want to order until the Jan. before my wedding.

Well, I think I have it narrowed down to two dresses, and then I see the back of this dress in a wedding mag, and I think, ZOMG, this is the prettiest dress I've ever, ever seen. So I called every dress shop in Houston that carried the designer, and out of 5 shops that do, only one had a sample of THE DRESS. So my sister and I trek halfway across town, and I try on this dress which is 5 sizes too small for me, and has a side zipper, so you can't even pull it in the back to see how it looks. But I just knew.

I had been to this place two times before and had terrible service. But this time, I came in the girl had put the dress in the dressing room, she was great an no pressure. I was surprised she was so nice considering I was a year and a half out from my wedding and probably not ordering that day. But I loved it, so I did.

I got my dress at the David's Bridal in Okemos, MI, and I was super pleased with the service. I walked in, marked pictures in their catalog of the dresses that I liked, and went to try on shoes while a saleswoman looked for dresses I liked in my size. It was an afternoon in January and wasn't busy at all ... there were two other brides there, also MSU students, so everyone was chatting and having a good time. Only one of the saleswomen was pushy, but luckily I didn't have to deal with her very much. My mom was with me, taking pictures the whole time, and my saleswoman was helping to make sure the dresses looked good in the pictures. She made the experience very fun :)

I also got my BM dresses through that store, and that was super quick and easy - I picked the dress (and tried it on) in less than 15 minutes! And I haven't heard any complaints from the BMs, so they must have gotten good service too!

I must note, however, that I've recently gone to a David's Bridal in Grand Rapids to search for shoes, and the saleswomen COMPLETELY ignored me. Apparently, if you're not there to try on gowns, they don't help you AT ALL.
