View Full Version : Ideas for bachelorette...

We're throwing a bachelorette for my sister this fall. She's not into strip clubs so that's out.
I'm thinking we'll do something kind of low key first and then hit the clubs after. But what to do first? Dinner? Spa?
We thought of doing a sex toy party, but we've been to so many within the last couple years that it feels over done.
Any suggestions?
TIA!

For mine we did a spa day and then went out to dinner (the melting pot--a fondue place) and went back to my SIL's house to watch wedding movies! It was so much fun!!

My SIL and BIL threw our bachelor/bachelorette parties and they were really fun-- we split up early in the night and went to dinner, then hit a few clubs to go dancing (the boys went to a strip club and DH made the dancers mad by laughing at them). My sister gave me several embarrassing things to wear and let me choose-- I went for the tiara and handcuffs instead of the Lifesaver covered "suck for a buck" shirt. Afterwards we all met up at a campsite to finish off the night and the guys serenaded us with their best (worst) drunken singing. The next morning was painful, but the party was fun! However we had it the night before our rehearsal dinner-- the good part was that most of our friends were able to come, but the bad part was the hangover that nearly kept us from making it to the rehearsal. So plan carefully!
For another girlfriend of mine, we had a lingerie shower/bach party, and for another, we did a coed dinner and karoake (sp?) bar. She also had a T-shirt with "tasks" on it that she had to mark off during the night, like do a cartwheel on the dancefloor, dance on a table, etc. After hers we had a slumber party at a BM's house.

For my MOH, all she wanted was a low key evening at home. So, we had about 5 girls over, played some games and gave her naughty gifts and just hung out. While some of the girls thought it was boring, it was exactly what she wanted and that was all that mattered.

I want to have a slumber party, make fun drinks, eat, watch movies and paint toenails.
Is that too weird??

For mine we went out to dinner and then went bowling afterwards. It was a lot of fun!

No, that's not weird! That's what my girls did for me!
But, I know my sister wants to go OUT. So we have to incorporate that into our plans. :)

I'm secretly hoping my 2 older cousins want to plan a "big-girl" bach party. Like with some lingerie presents.... etc!

We had my shower in the morning, then went to a pottery painting place, and we all made us dessert plates, then we went to eat, went to a local bar for a bit and enjoyed their specials, and then went to a club....nothing TOO exciting, but fun none the less!
I am guessing since I don't know all the details... (ALICIA...?) :pfft:
But from what I can tell it will be sorta like dinner, clubbing, slumber party in the hotel across from our venue.
But again, I am GUESSING! Ask me again at the end of September

We went to a swanky dinner at a restaurant known for its fabulous martinis. We got all dressed up in cocktail dresses. They had live music and we had some great drinks with our dinner. It was the perfect place to start the evening!!

Mine wasn't fancy but it was so much fun! We had a slumber party with drinks and tons of junk food. My girls all surprised me with lingerie gifts..which was very nice! We ended up drinking and playing Catch Phrase all night. I definitely recommend that game. It's a lot of fun! Oh and we played pin the tie on the bachelor. I LOVED my party!

What is "Catch Phrase" and how do you play it?

My party was low key..which is good b/c I was sick with larengitis! My girls took me to this cute town in northern NJ which I had never been too. It's kinda ritzy. And we went to a nice Italian restaurant, with really yummy food. Then they took me to a local playhouse to see "Hello Dolly". We're all musical/theater buffs, so it was perfect. And it was fun b/c Hello Dolly has that marriage theme in it, so the comedy was right on point!
Would something like that work for you?

I think we're going to go to this place called LIPS... from what I've been told it's like a drag queen show or something. But I really don't know cause my MOH & BM have been hush hush about it.

Descrpition: Quick, rattle off as many clues until somebody on your team yells the word or phrase you want to hear. Get as physical as you want. Gesture. Say anything you want. Just keep talking. And keep passing. 'Cause if the buzzer goes off while you're holding the disk, the other guys get the point in CATCH PHRASE... the fast-passing, fast-talking game.

Not at all - that's what I'd like to do - mine is going to be very low-key... hopefully with matching PJ pants for everyone too

How about this?
"I took it upon myself to take revenge on all the friends who have made us wear ugly bridesmaids' dresses. I threw a bachelorette party for my sister and made a mandatory request to all girls who were to attend. Each one had to wear the ugliest bridesmaid's dress they had hanging in their closet. We had a BLAST! Sure, we looked ridiculous, but at least we got one more wear out of those dresses. So ladies, don't throw those dresses in the trash, make a party out of them!"

My bridesmaids and I are going to a spa in the am and then going to have lunch. They are all coming to Madison(they all live in IL) and we are going to be coming back to my place to have drinks while we get ready to go out to the bars and have dinner. They are all spending the night at my place afterwards. It is going to be so fun! Only 23 more days!

My sister is planning on having some sort of cocktail hour/appetizers at her house (she is channeling the spirit of Martha Stewart). Then I think we will probably just to hang out at a bar with my friends. I'm not sure if we're going to a college hangout bar, or they have a couple fancy dessert/cigar/cocktail bars in town that we might go to. I like low key :-)

Ours started out as a joint poker party. But it ended up with DH passing out first and the rest of us drawing naughty stuff on his face with magic marker.

I'm at a complete loss for what to do.
I'm not a huge bar person and am very shy so I'm not thinking bars, but will do it if nothing else comes up.
We could stay in but I don't think as many people would come.
