It was a Saturday when it all began.....October 8th, 2005
Chris and I woke up early because we had a lot we were going to do that day. He was going to be outside most of the day and I had a bunch of things in the house that needed to get done (We were at his parent’s house that weekend). I had just moved out of a house with some roomies so I was washing clothes and he was putting something together for me outside.
That night we had plans on meeting one of my best friends for dinner at Olive Garden because it was her birthday that day. We were going to meet her around 7 I think so we had plenty of time to get stuff done. I decided that I was going to get my nails done that day just because…(kinda funny) His mom was acting very strange twords me and didn’t talk much. She was very quiet…she is normally very talkative but she wasn’t that day. I thought it was strange but went on with my day…. It was later in the afternoon now so I decided to get ready so that we could get going. I got somewhat dressed up and we drove to Saint Cloud to meet her. When we got to the restaurant to meet my friend she was acting squirrelly as well and not herself. I asked Chris if I could check something on his phone and noticed he had called her earlier that day….Very odd to me since he didn’t even know her number!
We were seated at our table about 45 minutes later and ordered dinner. We decided to have a light dinner so we just had salad and breadsticks. After we were done with the meal we wanted to order desert but my friend was practically BEGGING me to come to the bathroom with her. I told her that I really didn’t need to go with her so she left and came back. Chris said he then needed to go and didn’t come back for 15 minutes! I was a little worried, but just ignored it. During this time we were waiting for our desert…All of a sudden I hear “Alright everyone here is your desert” She set it down on the table, and then came behind me and said “And this is for you…..” and set this down on the table in front of me…..

I immediately started bawling and when I looked at Chris he was on one knee and started talking. I HONESTLY cannot remember a word he said!!! When he was done I of course said yes and gave him a hug and kiss. Practically the whole restaurant was clapping and being friendly
Not more than a minute later I had some older women coming up to me and grabbing my hand…(Kind of rude I thought) and were talking to Chris and I.
The waitress let us keep the plate and we left the restaurant holding hands (and I being giddy because I had a FIANCE!!)
