Who did you take dress shopping with you?

Just wondering who you took shopping with you and why?

Me: Its going to be just me & mom. Wanted me MAOH & aunt to go but Maoh can't get off work that day & aunt is on vacation.

Why did I ask them all? Mom is a given, aunt M I am very close to, and likewise w/ MAOH- she's like my sister.

My mom and my FMIL went shopping with me. I lucked out that day - I only tried on about 7 dresses before finding THE ONE :)

The first couple times I went with my friends, and the last time I went with my mom.

When I go dress shopping, I want my mother's to come with me.

My Mom apparently wants nothing to do with my wedding. Everytime I ask her to help with something she is too busy so I didn't even ask her to go with me. My MOH went with me the first time and the next time I go I think I will ask my FMIL to go.

For the majority of my looking, I didn't take anyone. I didn't want any pressure from anyone else... I only brought my mother along when I was ready to buy.

I went with my BM Emily... she cried when I put on "THE ONE"

I went alone the first couple of times. Then I took a coworker with me (I just moved to the city and didn't know anyone)-which worked out because she was honest enough to tell me the truth. Last place I went, I took DH because I was getting my dress custom made and he knows about that stuff, so I wanted him to make sure they knew what they were doing; plus we picked out the fabric together.

Had my family been closer, I'd of taken my sister first, then my mom and sister - once we found something.

The first time, I went with my mother. The second time, I went with my MOH and FMIL. I realized on the second trip exactly what style of dress looked best on me.

My mom has gone with every time. My MOH only went once because she lives in AZ.

Well, I haven't gone yet...but I am TOMORROW!! :) YEAH! I am just taking my mom for this trip, I didn't want a million eyes watching me try on dresses when I don't have any clue what I want or what might even look good on me...so it is just the two of us for now! :) I am so EXCITED! :) :) :)

I went once with one of my friends, once with my BM, and then once with my sister by herself and once with my sister and mom together. When I went with my sister and mom together was when we found my dress.

I had only a week in NC to plan out the wedding ( I live in MN) so I took my Mom, MOH, FSIL and FMIL. I wanted the ladies of my family to be to be a part of the day! We had a blast and was a great bonding time for all the new ladies who are about to become family!

I took my mom with me both times, We had planned on going back and taking my sisters but I had chosen by dress the second time. We are going again with my sisters just so they can see it on me.

I took DH! I actually didn't even think twice about it... we were planning on doing "private time" photos before the ceremony so he was going to see me before the ceremony in any case, and I wanted to make sure he loved the dress I picked as much as I did. It worked out well and I was very glad to have him along. :)

I bought my dress online thru ebay..

I bid then my best friend came on IM a bit later so I showed her the auction. She looked over everything and helped reassure me it was a good deal :)

But otherwise no one took me.. I never went to try on a single dress :)

I went the 1st time with my bridesmaids 2 of them and my maid of honor my oldest daugher now 15. And a friend.

2nd time with just my best friend who's also a bridesmaid.

And then with my mom and my kids whom are also brides maids.

The last time I went and found THE ONE was with just my mom and my youngest daughter who's 10. :)

I'm going again to get measured with my shoes for the day of on 9/2/06 this time I'm only going with my mama :luvlove: We both cried when I tried on the dress. Funny how we all cry when we see THE ONE!!! :tear: I guess that's what makes it THE ONE :lol:

The first and only time I went I took my mom who is also my maoh and my aunt came along, only for the simple fact that we needed someone to drive us around Calgary. lol When I went to pick up my dress my mom came with me.

My mom and grandma came with me to try on dresses. I had no intention of buying at the time but couldn't pass up the dress or the deal they were gonna give me!!

I would have liked for my MOH to have gotten to come with me but that's life I guess!!

Seriously it was my mammy and I was going to pay for my dress but it turned into a present from her which made me feel amazing

I took my mom, my aunt (MOH) and my cousin (BM). I wish I would have taken my MIL though. Her and I super close, but I think we have gotten closer since the wedding.

I went a few times with friends (including Kim!), and then my MoH. When I narrowed it down to two dresses, I made sure that my Mom, my BMs, and my MoH weighed in on the decision! :aok:

I can't even remember how many times I went dress shopping :blush: I had too much fun with it!

I was sad that I only went the one time and only tried on 4 dresses before making my decision. Little did I know I would end up wearing like 100 wedding dresses AFTER the wedding :lol:

she is honest with me and the same things tend to bug us in clothes, so its a good person to have...

i plan to also go with my mom if at all possible (she's in CA and i'm in CO and we've both got some health stuff going on)
