There are lots of things that I've seen and thought that we would do if time/money/energy allows. The two biggest things are the chocolate fountain (at $3.95 pp, it's a little out of our budget right now!) and Jer and I saw personalized shotglasses that we would love to get but we've already got favours figured out (and started) so it would just be an extra!
Anyone else have things that are just hopes/wishes right now?
I wish we could have a string quartet. I wish we had the money to spend on all the flowers I would like to have and didn't have to DIY them. Thankfully his Aunt is florist and will be handling most of this that though.

I wish I could have ceremony musicians rather than recorded music....
That would be nice too...but that would be the bottom of the wish list!
And heck, I wish we had unlimited funds so we didn't have to spend so much time searching and searching for the perfect thing for the lowest cost :lol2:

I wish I could change my marriage date to a Saturday evening during May or June and still pay the same amount in the same place.:disbelief:
I wish I could use a really good band instead of a DJ.
I wish I could go on a Mediteranean cruise for the honeymoon.
I wish I could rent a horse and carriage and get some great pics.

I definitely understand - we all want to have the dream wedding, but need to find a stinkin' money-tree in order to do it :happysigh:

I have been wracking my brain and I really can't think of anything. We have all that we wanted. We just found out that we are geting help for both parents so now I can afford the chair covers. :heee:
One thing I would like is real flowers for the centrepieces. Too late though, I already have them made.

We feel very blessed to have such caring parents. We really weren't expecting anything except the rehearsal dinner from FH parents. Being older and on our own for many years we planned on paying for it ourselves. Now we have no worries and extra money for our honeymoon! It was a wonderful and appreciated surprise!

The only thing would be to have the money to invite more people. There are so many good friends at work that I just can't inlcude and it breaks my heart. To me, the people are the most important part. Not the details.
~Liza
Liza, that's me too. We already feel as though we invited way too many people as it is, but I have a lot of friends I would have liked to invite also.
I also would really like to deck out the reception with tons of flowers and be able to afford white chairs for the ceremony.

People. Honestly, if I won the Powerball this week I'd find a way to get my friends some days off of work and give them an all-expenses paid trip so they could come to the wedding. There are several people who have time-intensive jobs who may not make it to the wedding and I really would love to have them here to share our day.

I'm happy to say that the chocolate fountain is no longer on our wish list :jump4joy: It's been reserved for us for our wedding day!
I explained to my sister that Jer and I were saving all of our change - figuring out when we counted it how many people it would feed for the fountain  Well, my sister decided that she had just finished rolling a bunch of change, and would love to collect her change from now until the wedding and that will be our wedding gift from her! So far she has $90 rolled and ready...and we figured that with the change that each of us has, this will be the guarantee to get the fountain :jump4joy:
So now the personalized shotglasses are on the wishlist... I love the idea - especially filling them with chocolate kisses (with stickers on the bottom that my mother volunteered to stick on) and wrapping them up - but we'll have to wait 'n see :happysigh:

You could make your own for not very much $$!! I did! I got plain shot glasses from $ store and etched them with a stencile (sp) I created! Just a thought!

I meant to ask you about that Heather - I bought the etching cream...but what type of paper did you use to create the stencil? Anything special?? I'm hoping to do this for the votive candles - just with our monogram or something...and invite people to take them home, so we won't have 12 dozen of them leftover after the wedding

I'm already married, but I still wish we would have had 2 things - an AWESOME photographer and a bigger reception site. We had a really hard time finding a place that would let us provide our own catering, so we got stuck at a golf course that just wasn't big enough to not be crowded. We were hoping to use their big deck as overflow, but it rained and we couldn't. :dunno: Oh well.

* a kick ass photographer (even though our friend who is doing it will do a great job).
* Table linens and chair covers.
