I have some time to myself tonight so what better time to rebuild my wedding day story! Sadly, I didn't save my one from UW but oh well.
My story on UW ended up pretty long, so I am going to try to keep this one a bit shorter, hehe.

Quite a bit went "wrong" on our wedding day, but almost 3 months later - when we think about our day, the things that didn't go as planned aren't what we remember. Its the good things from the day that stand out.
Additionally, I wasn't exactly treated very well by some of my bridesmaids (I was yelled at about everything from a bridesmaid getting mud on her dress to hair - at which point my hair stylist had to tell the BM to sit down as she was out of line). But again, I think I am going to try to leave that out of my story as well.

The days before
The days before our wedding were hectic to say the least. I don't think I've ever been so exhausted in my life!! In the month before the wedding, Steve and I faced things that set us back so we were really pushing time and our emotions were really being tested.
A month before the wedding I lost my Grandmother. The day before her funeral Steve lost his Grandfather. It was hard having lost two people we cared so much about, but we managed and we know they were both there in spirit. Even so, I still wish they could have been there.
In wedding related mishaps... Two weeks before the wedding I got my gown back from the seamstress and it wasn't good. She had messed my dress up to the point I couldn't wear it as it was. I took it to another seamstress and she was able to fix the gown so that I was at least able to wear it. It wasn't perfect, but It looked a lot better and disaster was adverted!
Then the Tusday before the wedding Steve and I were getting ready to take some thing to the reception site. Steve was cleaning our a vase when he busted it. Instead of taking things to the reception site, we ended up in the emergency room. Steve needed 5 stitches in the side of his hand. The didn't end up showing in picutres (except for some scratches) and he was fine, but it still wasn't fun!!
Other things went wrong here and there and by the time our day came, I was just ready to get it over with. If at all possible... get everything done the week before the wedding!! I really wish I wasn't so stressed up to the morning of.

April 28, 2006
I spent this morning with my mom, we went to get our nails done and pedicures and she ran last minute errands with me. Afterwards I met Steve back at the house to finish packing for the honeymoon (we were leaving at 5am Sunday morning).
Earlier in the day we noticed my little himmy cat, Arawen, was acting odd. She would hang out in her litter box and leave before doing anything. I knew I wasn't going to be able to enjoy our Honeymoon wondering if she was okay (my brother was staying at the house while we were away) so we called the vet and explained the situation. Our vet was understanding and took us right away. Steve took her in at about 3:30 and I finished packing. The vet didn't have the time to run all the tests but he was pretty sure it was an Urinary Tract Infection and he gave us some antibiotics. In the end, he was right and little kitty is doing fine :)
Once Steve got back from the veterinarian we got dressed and headed to the church at 5 to hang some wreaths I made (rehearsal started at 5:30).

When we got to the church, we were surprised to see everyone already there!! We hung our wreaths and rehearsal went great. Afterwards we went to dinner and everyone had a great time. We handed out gifts to everyone and they all loved them, especially the kids.

After dinner my Uncle Frank and my brother met us back at our house. My uncle took our luggage to the hotel for us and we showed my brother how to give the cat her medicine. I finished up some things at the house and then headed to my mom's where I was spending the night. I got there at about midnight, finished up some last minute things and then went to bed at 1am. I was so exhausted so I had no problem falling asleep!

April 29, 2006: Our wedding day!!!
Getting ready

My Mom woke me up at 7:30am. I sat and had a cup of coffee before I jumped in the shower to get ready to go to hair appointments. At about 8:30am someone pulled into the driveway - It was a florist delivering a dozen roses Steve had arranged to have sent to me :).
My BM and I had planned to all stay at my mom's house the night before but in the end only one did. Everyone was supposed to be at her house by 9am so we could go to our hair appointments but again, no one showed up so we just went and the other girls met us at the salon.
I was fine most of the morning but started getting a little nervous when I first sat down to have my hair done. I was mainly pretty silent. My hair took about an hour and a half and I was so happy with how it turned out! I loved it! As we were getting ready to leave my cell phone rang and my Maid of honor, Maggie, answered it. It was Steve calling to let me know that the videographer had just left the guys and was heading over to my Moms. That was when I started to get nervous!!!

I ended up being a little late getting back to the house because one of my BM didn't like how her hair turned out. It looked great in front but the back was a little funky. So I took her to Jewel to get an Orchid that we ended up putting in her hair to cover the funky part and it worked out fine. On the way back to the house it started to rain and was still raining as we left for the honeymoon the next morning.

When we got back to the house the florist was delivering the bouquets - Mine was supposed to be 3 dozen roses and was only two and didn't look as I had thought it would but I just let it go. The videographer and photographer were already there.
The makeup artists started working on the bridesmaids who wanted to have their makeup done and everyone was just running around getting ready so I just took the time to double check we had all of our travel documents and what not. Finally, at noon, I sat down for makeup. We were behind schedule at this point but nothing I could do about it.
A little later it was time to get my dress on. My Bridesmaids were too busy to help so My mom did. In the end this was fine because my mom was happy that she has the pictures of her helping me do everything. At this point I was shaking so getting my jewelry on was hard! But I managed :)
Once I had my dress and jewelry on my Mom handed me a little wrapped box and a card - it was a wedding gift from Steve. I tried to read the card but I started to cry so I had to set it down and try to read it again later. Inside the box was a beautiful diamond heart necklace - I ended up wearing it that day.
Next it was time to go! It took a minute, but we finally got my Maid of Honor, Maggie, upstairs to help me carry my train. I gave her a card for Steve to give him at the church (I gave him his gift the night before). She didn't do it but my mom brought it to the hotel so I gave it to him that night.
Finally we all got into the limo and headed off to the church!!! Halfway there I asked my BM if she remembered Steve's wedding band and she had forgot it. Luckily I was able to get ahold of my Mom who was still at the house. She was able to grab the ring for me.

Pre-Ceremony

We got to the church at about 1:30pm. The guys were already there and we had to send them all into the nursery so I could get into the church. My brother stayed behind to help us carry our things in.
When I got inside I went into the sanctuary to see how everything looked all set up and talk to my Dad. Thats when I noticed that the flowers on the pews were all missing. I found the florist and long story short - they simply forgot them... All of them. A thousand dollars worth of flowers and they simply "forgot them"... The fathers' bouts were also wrong among other things. There was a huge mess with them telling me they would get the flowers there, then telling me they couldn't and so on and so forth. In the end, we got a full refund and I don't feel like going into detail but just about everything was messed up in one way or another.
We were supposed to do photos before the ceremony but I was dealing with the florist so the guys had their pictures done instead. The girls and I waited in the parlor and just tried to relax. My sister (Matron of Honor) helped me do whatever I needed to and I was so glad she was finally there! (she had a long drive in and other things I needed help with so she just met us at the church).

Ceremony
Finally it was time to line up. I stood on the staircase waiting for the prelude music to end and then the mothers were seated. The processional music began and the bridesmaids started down the aisle. The last to walk was my sister, followed by my nephew Justin (RB) and our 2 flower girls Audrey and Mckenzi. All of the kids did great and made it down the aisle perfectly, they are so adorable in our video!
The doors shut again and I took my place next to my Dad. I was so happy that my dad was able to walk me down the aisle - 2 months before the wedding he had broke his leg and ankle and needed major surgery. We were unsure the whole time if he would be able to walk me down the aisle or not (his broken leg was also the reason I had to walk on his left).
My processional music began and the doors opened once more and everyone stood up. My dad was moving so fast at first I had to tell him to slow down! We made it down the aisle without incident - I almost cried but I was able to hold the tears back. We reached the end of the aisle as the processional music finished. I stood with my dad during opening prayer and he started to cry which in turn made me cry. Prayer ended and Steve stepped down to take my hand. I gave my dad a hug and Steve and I stepped up to the altar.

The ceremony was about 30 minutes long but it felt like it was over in 10. The ceremony went fine but it did get pretty hot! Steve said "I do" too soon and everyone had a good laugh - I thought it was cute :).
Finally we were husband and wife, kissed, and headed back up the aisle! Once out of the sanctuary we headed down the stairs to wait to do our exit.

It was still raining when it came time to exit but we went ahead with it anyway. Not many people wanted to stand outside in the rain so we didn't have too many bubbles but it was still fun. We did our exit straight into the limo, drove around the block, and then entered the church though another door for pictures. My train was so dirty but nothing seemed to show up in pictures.
After pictures were finished we all headed back into the limo to go to the reception!!

Reception

We arrived at the reception and everyone was in the lobby. Steve and I got stopped by my boss and coworkers and started to say hello when our room captain for the evening, Dianne, introduced herself to us. At the same time our coordinator (Danielle) came running up to us. She told me that she wouldn't let anyone into our ballroom until I saw it first. She grabbed my hand and we walked into the ballroom.
After the incident with our flowers at the ceremony and the incidents with a few BM, I had given up on my wedding being what I had planned or thought it would be at that point. I walked into that room and every single detail exceeded every expectation I had ever had. At the last minute we added a candy buffet. I expected a table with our containers and candy set up nicely - Instead they set it up on 3 tables with different levels, covered in votives and pillar candles and each table was lit from underneath. It was amazing. Then I saw the table settings with our favors and centerpieces and it was all perfect (we had a different florist for the reception - thankfully). Then Danielle walked us to the middle of the dance floor to see our wedding cake. I stood there just trying to take everything in and I broke down crying... and not a few tears - I was sobbing, lol. Danielle and Dianne thought I was upset and kept asking me what was wrong. Finally I was able to say "Happy" and then I just explained that it was just perfect while still crying. At this point even Dianne and Danielle were holding back tears!

Dianne then took Steve and I up to the bridal suite where they had champagne waiting for us. The best man, My sister, and my bridesmaid Jen came up and we all just relaxed and it was a lot of fun. I didn't worry about fixing my makeup or my hair or anything else and the rest of the reception we just relaxed and had a good time. Eventually MIL came up and she and Jen helped me switch from my cathedral veil into the shorter one I had and we took a few more pictures on the staircase in the lobby.
Before long it was time for introductions. First we had to bustle my dress though. Maggie knew how to do it but at the time she was no where to be found so My sister, my mom and Jen all dove under my dress and started the bustle. It wasn't done right and didn't look as it was supposed to but they did their best and I didn't really care at that point.
Once we were all seated FIL said a few words and then my sister and Matron of Honor made her toast followed by the best man - Both were great! Then it was finally time to eat! All of the food was delicious and we had so many compliments on everything.
Before the main course it was time to cut our wedding cake. Steve and I had so much fun doing this - It was great to do things together after being apart for the first part of the day. Steve and I thought we would both be a little shy standing in front of 220+ people but we didn't even notice. It was just nice :) My only regret is that we didn't make time to get back to our seats to eat a full piece for ourselves!! We have had SO many compliments on how great the cake was.
After dinner was our first dance. We changed this at the last minute - we had taken dance lessons and had a choreographed first dance set up. However, because of the allergic reaction I had on my feet, they were so swollen and so red and painful it just wasn't possible. I couldn't even get my sparkly dance shoes on which still makes me sad because I loved them. I am just glad I brought a pair of flip flops even though I was barley able to get them on. But in the end, even though we didn't get to do what we had planned, it was nice just to be able to dance with my husband and be perfectly relaxed and just talk.
After our first dance was the father-daughter dance. Halfway through, Steve and his Mother joined in. My Dad was even able to dance without his cane but him being able to dance at all meant so much to me.

The rest of the night Steve and I danced a bit here and there but mainly we tried to greet as many guests as we could. We are pretty sure we got just about everyone though not always together. Thats one thing I didn't like about a big reception - We were constantly pulled in different directions and as soon as we got back to each other it would happen again! So every so often we would sneak up to our bridal suite so that we could have a moment alone.
We had so much fun - though one more thing did go wrong... At one point during the night steve busted open one of his stitches in his hand and ended up bleeding all over a chair cover. He was okay and luckily we didn't need to go back to the ER to get it re-stitched.
Later in the evening we did the garter and bouquet toss. We weren't going to do a garter toss at first and I was concerned we would have many people participate in either, but the dance floor was filled for both! One of Steve's co-worker's date caught the Bouquet and one of the groomsmen caught the garter. In the end I am glad we did both.
Our DJ was great and kept the dance floor packed until the very last song - From what we hear Steve's co-workers were rather upset when it was all over, hehe.
The night came to an end and at that point I was so exhausted I couldn't wait to get to the hotel and get a nap in. When we arrived at the hotel a prom had just wrapped up and all the prom kids were standing outside and in the lobby. When we got out of the car everyone clapped and congratulated us, it was really cute.
We got up to our room and I ended up collapsing on the bed in my dress, veil, everything! I woke up pretty quickly when they brought us chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne. We saved the champagne for when we got home but the strawberries were quite yummy! We then got changed and took a 3 hour nap. We woke to someone knocking on our door telling us the limo was here to take us too the airport - oops. We got ready, grabbed our luggage and were off to the airport! (we arranged for my mom to get my gown and all of our other stuff). And thats about it :)

I am so glad we hired a videographer!! I love our entire DVD and there is so much on there that I missed (such as dancing with my brother, which I just didn't remember (and I wasn't drunk)). Our DVD is just as important to us as our pictures and we have already watched it several times. There is just so much going on that day - I love that we can watch it as it happened.

Anyway... Our into video clip!!!! You’ll need windows Media Player and if you’re on a slow connection it might be easier to save first if you wish so you don’t have to deal with buffering.. they are low quality files for internet so they aren’t huge but big enough that buffering gets annoying. (We are also featured on our videographer's website!!).

haha i wish... we won't have the album for 10 to 12 weeks! A lot of its our fault though. With finding out about the pregnancy and me feeling so sick during my 1st trimester, we put off picking pics and setting up a time to lay out our album (we did it using a computer program with our photog). Our photographer understood and let us extend the time for doing the album. I called at the end of july and had a time set up in august (first time we could coordinate schedules). Then there was a problem with scheduling and the photog had to cancel that appt and the next time we had that worked for everyone was last night! I really want our album though.. bigger photos to scan hehe jk... kinda lol. :) I really like the layout we did! I think its going to look great, just hope it comes in early!
