mmm go figure no SD brides I am the lonely one again!!
Heather, I'm in Moorhead, MN, so I'm not far from you at all. Plus I have a lake cabin in Browns Valley, MN, cousins in Sioux Falls, aunt and uncle in Rapid City too actually, but it's just a cabin, they don't live there permanently. Come to think of it, my family homesteaded in De Smit. :D

That is so cool!! At least someone is close!! Do you vist here often ? I love the hills!
sadly, I have not been to the black hills since 1988 :( the farthest I've been has been De Smit. I try to go to the lakes a lot during the summer, but we just can't afford the gas this year, not with the wedding.
One of FH and my friends has a cabin in Rapid City, they are out there almost every weekend.

That is to bad! I don't blame you though gas here just keeps going up and up! I am so scared to see the gas prices during the rally!! The lakes aren't much to look at right now they are so low!! It has been over a 100 for the last two days!!
yup, same here, although today is a pretty nice day, we had horrendous temps and high humidty for the past few days.
When is the Rally anyways?

6-12 of Aug! Everything goes up in prices around here during that time and a couple weeks around it also. I am actually going to work down there this year!!! Make some good money!!
have fun with all the bikers...and if you see a tall guy with a longish ponytail (balding on top but always wears a hat or a bandanna) and a huge beard, tell him his niece says hello!
My aunt and uncle always go down there for the Rally, though they may have stopped, my uncle was in an accident a few labor days ago. They still ride motorcycles though.

I heard this year is going to be big. Last year wasn't really that great! Very slow. That is really great your uncle still rides!! If I see anyone matching that discription I will tell them hi for you!! I hope it isn't the wrong guy though!!

He looks a lot like the guys in ZZ Top, he gets asked for his autograph all the time :D

Really thats funny. Does he every give them out or tell them who he is? I just found out that I have tons of family comming here again this year for rally! wow lots of work to do!!
Yup, he has given his out as ZZ Tops :)

Hi Heather! I'm not from SD, but live in Nebraska. However, I haven't seen any Huskers around here. I used to go to SD twice a year, and went once last year after about a 10-year absence. My grandmother's family homesteaded just outside of Chadron, NE, and my mom grew up at Fort Robinson. We used to go up there to visit my great-uncle, and always went to the Black Hills and the Flinstone place!

Heather- love your name!! That is neat that place is still there! The hills have a draw about them!! I think that after a yr of moving away because of Fh's job we will move back! We both just love it here!!

when the split up the state (the dakotas) they cut it in half and renamed the top north dakota and the southern half south dakota!! Kinda interesting and funny when people don't know!

It's been almost a year since I've been on this site, but I thought I'd say a quick hi! I'm from Nebraska, but I was pretty close to SD this past weekend. I have family in Chadron, so my hubby and I made a quick trip up there over the weekend.
