Hi. :wavey:
Two of my attendants have birthdays on my wedding day. I really want to acknowledge them and thank them so much for letting me press them into slavery on their birthdays. I was thinking that at some point during the toasts I might bring out two small cakes with candles and have everyone sing happy birthday to them.
What would you think if you were at a wedding where this occurred? Would you think it was weird?

I would think, "how nice of Kellie to not forget her girls on their special days." I think you should do it!

Yay, someone else with this idea! My BM is turning 30 the day of my wedding, so we are having a surprise cake brought out for her and making everyone sing Happy Birthday!
Go for it! :)

One of Kathy's niece's has a birthday the day after - we're having a cake for her at the 'open house' the next day. :)

I was going to do that for everyone who's b.day was in July, but was too many to count. So since at the time our wedding date was for July 22, 06.
It's the same day of my mommy's birth, one day after Marc's mom's b.day, and three days before my daddy's sister b.day, and one day before my cousins b.day.
So we were going to have two small cakes made to honor them and dedicate one song for them.

Oh good, another person! FI's younger brother's birthday is the day of our wedding. I haven't figured out yet how to celebrate it. He's in the wedding party and never even mentioned that it was the same day. I didn't find out until about 5 months into the engagement.

We set the date, and I'm talking to my friend the next day and I tell him what it is and then I just gasp! "Oh my gosh, that's your birthday!" And then I remember that he and Meredith have the same birthday. And then I asked him over and over if he was really sure that it was ok with him.

I think that is a really sweet idea.
I say do it, definitely. I talked to a bride who REALLY wanted to use June 30th for her wedding, but she was so unsure because that's her bro and SIL's anniversary AND her FMIL birthday. She asked what I thought and I first asked her "well, how do they feel about it?" and she said they both said it was okay, and they were thrilled. So I told her about encorporating something into her reception for them and she thought that was a fantastic idea, so she's using the date she wants and she's honoring her family. You can't go wrong with cake!

My uncle and cousin's birthdays are the day of our wedding, and we'll be singing "happy birthday" to them. My cousin is all excited about it...he wants to be carried around the dance floor :hehe:

My niece's aunt (other side of the family) had a birthday the day after their wedding, and my niece arranged for a balloon to be tied to the back of her chair, and we all sang her happy birthday at midnight :)
I think it's a great idea!

Its funny, my fhs birthday is the day before our wedding. So I have to plan a rd plus a birthday supper. I don't want to forget that. We are also getting married on his dads birthday who is no longer with us. Which is one of the reasons why we are getting married on March 30th. I have plans for the rd/b-day supper party. I think things will turn out. We also have fhs brother b-day the day before fhs birthday. A lot of things going on that week. lol
I think bringing out the cake sometime and singing happy birthday is a great idea. They will love it and be thankful that you did something even though it is your big day.
