I am thinking about 5p.m. or 6p.m. Is that late? Normal?

My wedding was at 6pm. Just decide what time of mood you want...

My brother got married at 730pm...so there is no set time.

I agree, there is definitely no set time....our ceremony was at 5:30, and our reception went until almost midnight. Just remember that if you have it around dinnertime, you need to feed people afterwards. :)

No set time really, but sometimes it depends on when your church schedules ceremonies. We had to have ours at 2pm because there was a mass that afternoon.

Yeah, I agree. There's no "normal time" for a wedding. I got married at 5:15pm. I would recommend though to not have it at 3AM :)

Nothing is normal.....I would say a majority of people have afternoon weddings (2-3pm) but I think a 6pm wedding at dusk would be romantic!

The sun goes down early in January so anything after 5:00ish will be dark. How does your wedding site look at that time of day?

Nothing really is "normal"... but keep in mind if you have a wedding around that time you'll definitely want to feed your guests a meal

As the other girls said, nothing is normal. We were married at 3:30 so that we could have cocktail hour from 4:30-5:30 and serve dinner right at sixish. Also we had to work around a mass. My friend was planning a noon wedding with heavy hors d'oeuvres (although she's had to change that due to her venue).

We have decided to have a afternoon wedding and serve lunch! We are going saturday to pick a place. My parents are like its where you want it but my FH's parents are no don't want to do it there. So since they are being kind of butt's about it they offered to help pay for a place.

depending on the church whether there is a Mass, another wedding before ore after yours will probably be an indication of the time for your service.

Mine was at 5pm. Perfect time for me, I didn't have to rush around all day. Our ceremony was 30 minutes, followed by 1 hour cocktails then the ceremony.

Have it when you want. Ours was as 4pm.

I love afternoon weddings with lunch!! :heee:

My parents got married in the evening at a candlelight service. I think evening is fine as long as you serve either dinner or heavy hors d'oerves depending on the exact time! I think any time is really fine as long as you serve the right meal or appetizers to go along with the time of day.
