Have you ever had second thoughts about your photographer, before the wedding, but after you booked him or her?
I don't know why, but I'm having second thoughts about ours. We selected her because we felt her work was nice, we both felt instantly comfortable with her, and she had some great ideas to keep the peace with unwanted guests (e.g. trick flashes when someone unwanted is in the photo). But, part of me is wondering if we made the right decision. She's not the best in Portland, but not the worst. I just see some other brides' photos and think, "I hope our pictures turn out as nice."
:happysigh:
I voiced my concerns to Brian last night. He was shocked I felt this way. He suggests waiting until we have our engagement session with our photographer and receive the photos before deciding to change. What do you think?

I would go with her and see what the engagement pics look like. I would not start second guessing just yet
Oh yeah, I've definitely had second thoughts about my photog, I'd like to kick him to the curb, but I know exactly what to expect from him so I'm alright. I have two friends who are photogs who are going to take care of the photos that I really want.

I agree with Brian - I think you need to wait and see how the engagement 'sitting' goes - you'll be able to tell there how the pictures turn out, how you feel about her ideas etc... :)
Do you have plans for your engagement sitting already?

I have seen my photographers work online and she comes highly recommended. Plus has the best price.
BUT i have NOT met her in person. She lives a few hours away in another state but does my area w/out a travel charge.

We are planning to have our engagement photos done in early October. Right now, we're looking at possible locations. Brian and I both want to have our photos taken in a very natural setting. Yesterday, I drove with FMIL to a rhodendenron test garden. While few rhodenderons were still in bloom, the foliage there is amazing--several large ponds, cascading waterfalls, and hundreds of people-friendly ducks (this could be good and bad).
The other location we're considering is The Grotto, a Catholic gathering spot in a beautiful park-like setting, with not only a real grotto, but also a stunning church.
Oh, decisions, decisions, decisions. We'll likely stick with our photographer. I'm just getting bride-brain and overthinking everything too much!
The grotto would be amazing! I go there every christmas :) What photographer did you end up going with?
It was between eric cable & craig mitchelldyer for me. I think they are both amazing but leaned more towards erics work. FH liked craigs work & the price, so we went with him.
I have had worries but not enough to think about changing photographers. Even after our engagment session, I wasn't happy with it only because I wanted more poses and backgrounds. But the only problem with that is he knew I don't like pictures of myself so he just took alot of the same poses figuring out of 100 shots I better like one lol so I guess it worked out well!

Is there a reason you are having doubts? Have they done something or have you heard bad things about them?
If there is no real reason for the doubts I would agree with FH and wait until you have your engagment pictures done. See how it feels working with them and how the photos turn out. Then if you are still not happy and you can get out of your contract find someone else.

I had second thoughts the entire time, but DH convinced me to go with her. (He works with her, did it for free.) I should have listened to my instincts. :firemad:
I have doubts all the time. I love our photographer, but I see all these beautiful pictures all the time and I am just scared that I will be disappointed in ours. I don't think it has anything to do with the PHOTOGRAPHER, I just want the most beautiful pics ever.
