Okay... I'm sorry if this was somewhere and I totally missed it...
Response card envelopes...
Do you think it's tacky to have a label with the address on there, or should it be printed directly on the envelope if you're DIY???
Please be honest!

When I think "labels", I think bulk mail. Personally, I wouldn't do it.

Good point!
I got an invitation in the mail from my cousin who is getting married umm... next weekend?? Everything on it has a label and I thought it was pretty tacky looking.

I honestly wouldn't care if it was hand printed, computer printed or printed on a label.....

I wouldn't care.

I wouldn't care, especially since that's what I did for the RSVP envelopes. The main envelopes were handwritten with our address label on the back, and the RSVP envelopes just had our address label on them. I did so much work on them by hand that I thought that was ok.

I wouldn't care if someone did it, but I wouldn't do it myself. Of course I was to lazy to do DIY invitations anyway :giggle:

:yeah: That's exactly what I did. My response card envelope was a silvery paper, and any pen that I tried to use would smear or wouldn't write at all. So I just used clear labels instead.

Since I happen to do wedding invitations, I'm kinda used to printing the names directly onto the envelope. I would stear clear from the white paper labels, but I see nothing wrong with some nicely done clear labels :).

I honestly wouldn't care if it was hand printed, computer printed or printed on a label.....same here, I understand the complexities of trying to hand do everything so I would understand why they did it

If the envelopes themselves are white, though, I don't think it's really that bad to do the white labels :shrug2:

Like I said above... I got an invitiation and EVERYTHING was on a label. The invitation itself was just a piece of white computer paper, but the outer envelope had a label and the "RSVP" had one on there too. :shrug2:

I actually used clear labels for my invites. I didn't have the energy to write them all out myself, nor the extra money to hire someone to do it. That was one detail I didn't particularly care much about - I figured if people were going to complain about the fact that I used labels, then they were going to be coming/not coming to my wedding for the wrong reasons anyway. Just my :twocents:

We got a invite a month ago, and they had used labels. But they were clear labels with a nice font used. It was actually nice. I think it all has to do with the type of person you are, and how much work and effort you want to put forth.

I used gold labels with a pretty font for my RSVP envelopes and it worked out fine. Heck half of the people just called or sent word through other people and didn't even bother sending the RSVP back so it really didn't matter how it was done.
I agree with Angela, if they want to be so picky as not attend your wedding due to a label you probably don't want them there to begin with.

I'm not a huge fan of using labels and didn't for my invitations, but I wouldn't judge someone if they decided to.

I wouldn't care, to be honest. I've recieved more than a few that way. Especially with larger weddings, I appriciate the time it takes to address envelopes!
That being said, I think that clear labels, and fancy colored ink/fonts look better than a run of the mill white label with black print.

Agree with you on that one...
I have a semi-funny story about this...
We're somewhere in the middle of the pack when it comes to size of the wedding. I just ran our numbers, and if EVERYONE shows up, we are at 138--that includes vendors.
So we decided that we were going to get clear labels and I would print them in a nice, colored font.
Yeah... then my printer crapped out on us today.
So I am in the middle of handwriting all addresses, because they MUST get in the mail first thing tomorrow morning. I'm taking a break right now.
If you go with labels, make sure your printer isn't a piece of crap! (Luckily I was able to print out the invites and response cards!)

haha
I just want to remind everyone the reason I started this thread...
My cousin had send us an invite for his wedding and EVERYTHING had labels on there. I definately thought it was a big no-no for the invite, but I wasn't quite sure on the RSVP.
