My story really isn't all that *exciting* but I will share anyway! My fiance were together just 4 months. He took me to the restaurant where we went on our first date. The menu had a lot of advertisments, and there was an advertisement for an engagement ring, so we started talking about it. I was saying how I don't like rings that are too gaudy...and suddenly he pulls out this HUGE paperweight ring (could fit around my wrist with room to spare) and says, "you mean like this?" And I started laughing but was confused wondering where on earth he got that and what was it doing here? Then he pulled out the box and said, "or how about like this". And I was in total shock! He didn't get down on one knee which would have been nice but he isn't really romantic. Anyway, I of course said yes, but then completely lost my appetite! Didn't take ONE bite of my food I was so emotional! lol. I just called all my friends and family to tell them the news. It was very cute. Afterwards we went to celebrate at this club where we had our first kiss. :)

We were on vacation in Florida over Easter and were staying with my aunt and uncle who had rented a house about 45 minutes from Disney World. (lots of potential there, huh!) Cailen had previously asked me if I had wanted to do Easter baskets and I had said "No" since that seemed like a hassle. Well, Sunday morning rolls around and he wakes me up unusually early for a Sunday and especially a Sunday on vacation. He tells me to go see if the Easter bunny came. I'm not usually too grumpy in the mornings but I said something like, No - the easter bunny didn't come and rolled over. He tried again to get me up and again I resisted. Finally to shut him up I got up and walked into the next room to look. I fully expected nothing to be there. Well, there was a basket on the floor with plastic eggs. I bring it back to bed to look at it and only see little chocolate eggs. Plastic eggs and milk chocolate eggs - it was very thoughtful, but I thought you got me up early and there wasn't dark chocolate or a Cadbury cream egg at least? I kind of dig through the basket to be nice and there under the pile of eggs and in a big hunk of fake easter basket grass was a very lovely box. I was immediately in shock. I slowly picked up the box (kind of knowing what it was, but still thinking it could be a joke as I had once received a giant box of ring pops for valentines day). I opened it and saw the most sparkly, beautiful ring ever! Cailen allowed me to sit there in shock as he lay on the bed and watched my reaction. Tears start pouring out of my eyes and I slowly take it out of the box. Finally, he says "I guess I should ask you something" because I'm just holding the ring and staring at it through my tears. Without getting up or doing anything remotely romantic he asks me to marry him and I say yes apparently although that part is all a blur. Then I spent the rest of the day staring at the ring sparkle in the light. YAY! (We also went out for a nice brunch, went to Hollywood Studios, and had dinner at Jiko in the Animal Kingdom Lodge)

I am happy that there are new stories... Prbetsi75, I have a paperweight solitare that fits like a bracelette... I got it the Christmas after our 5 year anniversary... I still have it and laugh about it now... mine did not have the real ring follow it, I was a little disappointed but I love it now...
