We did all the flowers for Kate's wedding and they were so beautiful. I was curious if anyone else here made their own fresh bouquets, etc.? :flowersniff:

I have a group of ladies that will be helping me DIY the flowers for the wedding. Thankfully one of them is a professional florist and will be providing guidance for the rest of us novices.

We used freshroses.com. I can't begin to tell you how fresh and gorgeous the flowers were when they arrived.

I'll be doing our flowers. We have 200 roses coming from rosesource.com and I'm still trying to figure out where to put them all!

The good news is that I'm pretty crafty, my sister has done some flower arranging, and I think she, Momzilla and I can get them all done without tearing our hair out. Of course, we just have to do 2 bouquets, 2 corsages, and 4 bouts. The rest of the roses are the centerpieces.

I was adamant on doing my own flowers, with the helping hand of a few close friends and good planning, I was able to pull it off.

Wow luzbel! Those are amazing! You chose very similar flowers and colors to me!

My mom is a florist (in addition to all of her other talents) and since we didn't need too many flowers (a few corsages, a few bouts, 2 bouquets and some table decorations, and a crown for the FG) she was able to do them all.

Don't mind MOH's eyes...it was really bright out. :)

I plan on doing my own flowers! I'm getting them from Sams. Probably the best prices I've seen!

Beautiful flowers!..Many Brides are doing their own flowers. It is quite cost effective. I also hear from my Brides that it is also gives their wedding a more personal touch....

I'm bumping this board up for any new DIY flowers. I am planning on doing my own flowers (do you know how many flowers you can buy for the $150-200 a florist charges for a bridal bouquet??!). It will definately take a little time, but I think with help we should have no problem wrapping the stems & making bouts like the florists do. Anyway I'd love suggestions from other brides that have done them... like here are some questions I have:

How many days in advance did you order the flowers? I've heard lilies can take several days to open up.

How many people did you have helping you?

How did you transport the arrangements to your ceremony/reception cite?

Those are good questions .. I'm planning on doing my own flowers as well, and I'll need to know that stuff eventually too!
