Did the wed date disappear or am I losing it? :nuts: :dontknow:

It disappeared - refer to all the posts about mods going away. :) It'll be back after we make sure it wasn't what was causing the boards to go down.

It could be the SQL server and not your hacks -- maybe the hosting doesn't have you on one that's large enough since the boards got a little bigger? :) I dunno, just a thought :)

We know that at least one problem was with the board and not the server - the option to switch the postbit from top to side was causing errors. So now we're just watching to make sure all the errors have stopped since we uninstalled all the mods. :)

I don't think the server issues were caused by lack of space/bandwidth - I believe it was just going down for some reason. Gina knows more about that than I do, though. :)

Are we talking about how the board goes down and is inaccessable for periods of time? Or are we getting error messages?

If we're talking about the outages, that seem to happen every so often, I would guess that those are either A. being caused by some sort of a server outage or B. being caused by a DNS glitch. I can't think of a single reason why the hacks would cause the site to be completely inaccessable.

Is the server admin of the server we're hosted on paying close attention to what's going on?

We're having two different kinds of outages - database errors and server outages. We found out today that the server outages are happening because someone is attacking the host servers and increasing the server load exponentially. The database errors were being caused by one of the modifications - I'm not sure exactly what happened, but the error did cause the whole board to go down.

Too bad that one hack was causing problems, it was nifty (unless of course it was reinstalled and I just haven't checked yet, LOL.
