So ok, I'm planning a shower for one of the gurl's im in the wedding for. Her and phil have everything, because she's lived on her own for a while, but they don't have a couch. so would this sound weird? she's got EVERYTHING...they haven't registered anywheres. all they need is a couch, so what ive thought of doing on the invites is putting something along the lines of...no resigtry, got everything, put money towards a couch, and she LOVES bath pampering things...

Both of us have lived on our own for a long time so I do understand having everything you need. But I would never want that on an invitation to my shower. But you know what is appropriate for your area.

I wouldn't do it the way you worded it, because I'd be concerned people would take it wrong. My first choice is just to tell people about the couch if they ask about a registry. But it's odd to chip in for a couch for a shower. I would feel odd about that. If she has everything, why not have a luncheon or a non-shower party, so that gifts aren't a required part of the event?
