Videography- yes or no?

On a scale of 1-5, 5 being the highest, how would you rate the value of videography? If you are married, are you glad that you invested in videography? If you are planning, how much of your budget are you spending on videography?

I would rate it a 5. I am so glad that we decided to invest in a videographer. We ended up with about 5 hours of footage from our reception so we were able to see EVERYTHING. I love getting to relive our ceremony too. I still get teary-eyed everytime I watch it! When I was living that moment, everything went by so fast, but watching the video helps me remember the way I felt that day. It really is priceless in my opinion!!

Our videographer also did a video guestbook which was a riot. People get very entertaining in front of a camera after some adult beverages :hehe:

For us, we rated it a 2. My godfather came and recorded the wedding and ceremony for us. I still haven't watched the DVD but my parents said he did a good job and that is fine with me. We really wanted to spend the money on other things rather than a videographer.

Our video was good, nothing spectacular but I still love being able to have it and look back on it right there in action.

1. I didn't have it done. I hate watching or listening to myself on something recorded. I knew I wouldn't watch the dvd if I had it done. Having 2 still photographers (along with pictures from guests) was good enough for me.

5. In addition to the video, we got the raw footage for the day which was really cool to see.

Like a 3....we didn't spend as much as we had budgeted for a videographer so we could have a really awesome photographer.
