Hello!
FH and I started registering not too long ago--and we've only registerd at one place..Target!
What types of things have you registered for? Any comments about Target's customer service? I'd love to hear anything you have to say, good or bad!
Here's our registry (http://www.target.com/gp/registry/registry.html/ref=cm_cw_sr_1/602-5197269-0375820?%5Fencoding=UTF8&type=wedding&id=22QT176WN0MLB&jsebd=1) in case anyone is interested...

Well, Mandy when's your wedding? Target's stock changes about every 3 months. We registered about 6-7 months before our wedding, and a lot of things weren't available come our wedding...frustrating for us and our guests!

Ooooh!! That's good to know! We're not getting married until November, so I'm thinking we may have registered too early :(. I'll have to keep checking in on things to make sure they don't discontinue them!! Thank you Snowy!!!

Are you having a shower? If so then registering early is good and you can always change things. I have a Target registry too and love it. It's so easy to use. I just had my first bridal shower and a lot of people purchased items from the registry. Our wedding isn't until November either :)

Yeah, my shower is August 5th actually...so I guess all I need to do is keep a close eye on everything to ensure something doesn't just disappear from the list! Thank you ladies!! :):)

We had registries at Target and Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and we didn't have problems with either place. We didn't have a bridal shower, so guests just brought the gifts to the wedding itself. We had no problems with stock; we must have just put the most generic items on our lists .

We're registered at Target, BB&B, and Crate and Barrel.
The only things that have changed/gone out of stock on my Target registry were sheets and stuff. Other things haven't changed, and we've had the registry for 2 years now!
I think the biggest problem with Target are their cashiers....if you have a registry gift and give them the paper to scan, sometimes they don't....we've had stuff bought as Christmas gifts, and we had to go online and delete stuff from the registry so we didn't get duplicates.

OUr things that were "discontinued" were common household items like: apple slicer, grater, tongs, etc -- the items looked EXACTLY the same, but the item number was changed by 1 number. They told us that the items must've been improved -- sorry to say, but I don't know how you can improve an apple slicer or grater! Oh well...just keep an eye on your registries!

The only problem I've had with Target thus far was the store to online integration of the registeries wasn't so good at first.... We registered at first in store, and a week after we registered, the registery still wasn't online so I had to email their online customer service for them to help it along.
I've heard you don't have that problem if you register online before you come into the store.

LOL! Yeah I wonder how they improve on an apple slicer. Technology these days....

Jer and I have already started our registry - mainly because of the distance and the time! We couldn't create a registry without being in the store, but once the registry was created, we can update it all we'd like online! So when we were together, we signed up and added a few things to each of two registries...and we'll just have to keep a close eye on them closer to the date. But now that it's online, we can do that from home :)
Good luck...and have fun at your shower!

I agree with that, plus navigating their site isn't too easy, and recommend in store registering. The only problem I had with our Target registry is that every time I ran in for something, I'd have to go get the gun and browse the whole store again, just in case I saw something I liked. :kimgrill:

We just recently had a lot of problems with our registry there. A lot of stuff went out of stock, and they left it on the list with just N/A next to it....so it made our list a ton longer, plus we had a registry in there for our December wedding before we switched it, they wouldn't let us edit that one because we couldn't remember our password (we tried everything we thought it could have been and nothing worked) so we started a new one, and then people were getting confused....I go in there and they just up and delete that one no questions asked...but then added the stuff from that registry over to the new registry so there were duplicate things....ugh....it was pretty much a joke....hopefully its all taken are of now.

We did our baby registry there and their return policies suck. If you get something without a gift receipt, you can only return it if it is on your registry. Um, if it were on my registry, I wouldn't have brought it back! Luckily their associates were pretty cool about at least letting us exchange or buy something else in the same department. I may have the exact details wrong-- just be sure to check their policies!!

the 2 problems I had with target resgistery were the return policy and sometimes there system doesn't updated the registery when items are purchased...I ended up with serveral extra things because they didn't take them off. I actually went and tested it by buying a couple things off my registery and made sure they scanned them right and it didn't take them off.

I have had great experience with the Target registry.
When FH and I updated our list it didn't show up the next day. I called the 1-800 number and it was fixed in less than 10 minutes (the gun thingie wasn't in the cradle properly).
We also registered at BBB and Sears. Stuff is disappearing from the Target registry like mad, but nothing from BBB and Sears. I guess my family are just Target people (and we put some expensive stuff on the Target registry).
