I was wondering how far in advance everyone booked their florist. I called a place that came highly recommended back in May. They told me to call back at the end of July, as it was too early. I called this morning and they told me to call back in September. Is that on par with what you guys have experienced? It's my last big vendor and I hate that it isn't booked yet!

My wedding isn't until September 2007, but I have appointments with florists this week. No one I've talked to has any problems booking me now. I don't know your wedding date since it's not on the sidebar anymore. HTH.

Oops! I didn't realize that the date no longer shows. :shuffle: My wedding is June 16, 2007.

I booked mine in Feb (my wedding is in October), so I would definitely book one as soon as you can. I can't imagine why they would tell you to call back in Sept, but I'm not familiar with the florist world. I always think the sooner, the better, plus that will be one more item checked off your to-do list :)

I think that you would still be okay booking in September. I worry more about the fact that they told you to call in July and now are putting it off again. If you really want them I would wait and call them the beginning of September but if they try to put you off again find someone else.

I just looked, my wedding planning book has selecting and booking florist in the six to nine month area, if that makes you feel any better :)

I'm also Sept 2007 and I've already had one apt with a florist, and I have another one tomorrow...so this seems sort of weird to me. Have you talked to other florists in the area or are you set on this one?

I'm getting married March 2007 and I am going to be booking my florist here in the next month or so. I have already talked with the lady and she says that if I come in near the end of the year put a deposit down, and then she will put in here order in. I can change my mind up until Jan 2007. When its final because she has to order the flowers. So I have a bit of time.

I would think that if you want to book the florist and they keep putting you off maybe you should look around more.

Yeah, I guess I should just start looking around at other places. She came so highly recommended, so I just assumed I would go with her. How disappointing!

Well, maybe she looked at how many people have been interested in the timeframe that your wedding is during and since there haven't been too many people booking, she didn't feel you needed to worry until September? That or she's just really busy with her events now...I dunno. I wouldn't be too worried though, I know florists don't typically book a year in advance around where I am, I would ask around your area and find out a good time frame for booking.

She might just be busy with doing weddings since it is wedding season. She probably knows that her books are pretty open for when your wedding is so she is probably trying to push you until the end of her busy season.

My florist came highly recommended and although she was very busy with weddings she still made time to meet up with me. I'd be a little worried, maybe call and express your concerns. And let her know your trying to get this done early. Maybe then she can try and make time.

I booked my florist about 10 months in advance. good luck! I wouldn't give up on her yet though.

I booked my florist as soon as I was engaged, but she is my friend's aunt. However she told me in April that we don't really need sit and discuss ideas for a few more months.

If your florist is very much in demand I would say one year before your wedding. 4-6 months is about average, 2-3 months is when some florists do want to see the Bride.
