I didn't have one particular inspiration. I just found a bunch of pictures online.

No theme.

Budget? How close did you come to your budget?
We weren't given one.

Planning
What were the 5 most important things to you when you began to plan?
1) No church ceremony
2) We did not want to spend the day posing for pictures
3) We wanted to get married when the weather was still cool.
4) Open bar for wedding party
5) The bridesmaids dresses would be purple.
Did priorities stay the same throughout the planning process?
Yes
What was the one detail you needed to have perfect?
The introduction into the reception. Each couple had a different song that had to be played in a certain spot when they were announced.
Were there any traditional aspects that weren’t important to you?
A lot of the traditional aspects weren't important but I did them. We didn't have a unity candle.
What was the hardest part of planning?
Choosing the vendors.
Did anything surprise you during planning?
I didn't think planning a wedding would take over my life. I was also surprised by the attitudes of some of my wedding party (both good and bad).
Were there any items that you and your spouse greatly disagreed about? How did you resolve the issue?
For one week he became obsessed with eloping in Vegas. I got my dad on the phone and his tune changed.

The Big Day
Did anything surprise you during the ceremony (i.e. how well you kept it together, how great your decorations looked in the church, etc)?
I really thought I would cry at some point, but I didn't. I was also surprised at how quickly it went by and that when I looked into his eyes it didn't seem as if we had anyone else there.
Did anything surprise you during the reception?
The dance floor was always full.
Did you use a wedding coordinator? If not, do you wish you had?
Our venue provided us with a day of coordinator. That's all I needed.
If you could re-live any one moment from your wedding day, what would it be?
I wish I could relive the entire day!! But the one moment would be when we were pronounced husband and wife and started our recessional. It was like okay, we did it now let's start the party!

Looking Back
What would you do differently?
I would have picked a different florist and there's one picture my husband wish we got. I would have also put a limit on the types of alcohol that were free to the wedding party.
If you had to do it all over and could only keep one element exactly the same, what would it be?
I loved so much about my wedding day, but that one thing would be the DJ. He hit every introduction flawlessly, played what I wanted, didn't play what I hate, and knew what songs my guests liked. He really made our wedding memorable.
Words of advice to planning brides?
Don't change your vision of your big day for other people because somebody is always going to disagree/be unhappy. It's your day and you don't want to look back on it with regret!
