For those of you who already are done with RSVPs, how long after the "return RSVP by X date" did you start calling people to actually find out whether they were coming or not?

Our RSVP date is 2 weeks before the wedding. Our caterer wants an estimate about a week before the wedding and a final count 2 days before. I figure I'll start calling a week after the due date.

We waited until about a week, maybe 10 days after the due date. We didn't need a final headcount until the day of, so we were fine. :)

FH wants to start now and our RSVP's aren't due until 7/30  Don't worry, I told him that we can't do that.

I cut my due date awful close.... Only a week before the count was due.... (Though, they seem to want the count awful early, two weeks before the wedding... I thought a week before was normal!) My due day was July 22nd, so I think we're going to start calling tonight and tomorrow.

What's annoying is it's almost *ALL* FH's family that didn't RSVP... A few people out of mine didn't send back the cards but I did get stuff like itinary information from them so I know they're coming... and a handful of my friends (mostly male geek socially challenged types) didn't RSVP, but they're easy to IM and find out whether they're coming or not... but FH's family is up in the air.... I can't even GUESS who's coming or not.

I'm annoyed, but I'm honestly not that stressed because it's not really on my shoulders.... it's on FHs and his family's.... but I think FH's kinda annoyed because it's one more thing for him to do.

I also wish I hadn't made a kinda dumb mistake when doing my RSVPs too.... Instead of putting M________________ I put Names of those attending: and obvious that's confusing people who aren't coming because they aren't writing their names.... Some that didn't write them were easy to figure out because they were the only one post marked in that area or they put a return address... but there are a few that I have no clue!

Our RSVP date is September 1st, and I'm going to give people until the 6th....I'll start making calls that night.

Sorry FH is going to have so much extra work to do :( S'too bad people can't just answer on time, huh?

We also have to give the final count to the caterer (with payment) 2 weeks before the wedding. So we're asking for replies to be back a month before, so that gives Jer 2 weeks to call :)

My RSVP date is August 23rd.. a month before my wedding.

I will wait until about September 4th to start calling and getting an answer.

I called them about a week before the final count was due...which was about 2 weeks after the RSVP's were due.

I waited a couple days for some people and a week for others.

I don't think we called anyone either. Our caterer didn't need an exact head count so it wasn't a big deal-- other than the fact that not RSVPing is one of my pet peeves.

Our rsvp date was a month before the wedding. I just wanted to make sure that things were in order. I didn't really have to call anyone to ask them if they were coming. All my OOT guests rsvped back yes or no, it was mostly in town guests, and I asked them if I seen them on the street.

I would think within the week the caterer needs the final head count.

I was glad we called some people - we had a couple of errors in addresses and two couples didn't even receive the invitation :(

I was so frustrated with the RSVP thing though - it seems to mean NOTHING to alot of people anymore. People don't bother RSVP-ing...or even if they DO RSVP a "yes", they don't bother showing up  We had about 20 people who said they would be there and didn't show up :firemad:

I gave them a week then made our parents call their respective people, while we called any friends. The amount of calls was a lot less overwhelming that way.
