So i was going to have my niece be our flower girl but she'll be 10 by the time we get married. I'm pretty sure thats too old to be a flower girl. And even if not she's decided she would like to be the junior bridesmaid instead. She's a big girl, i gave her the option of choosing because i'm an awesome aunt, thankyouverymuch.
I guess i'm a little confused about what a junior brideamaid does. If she's just a junior version of the bridesmaids...seems obvious huh? But when should she go down the aisle? Would she be the first to go down, or the last...sorta in place of the flower girl, but with out the flowers....probably doesnt even matter right?
If you had junior bridesmaids, what were their responsibilities? Would it be weird to have no flower girl or ring bearer?

My SIL had our niece as a Junior BM and she walked in before the bridesmaids, MaOH and flower girls. I honestly don't know if she had any responsibilities to be honest.

My niece was my JrBM. The order they walked in was, MOH, JrBM, RB, FG. I didn't have any other BMs. I think it depends the most on where you want her to stand. Just have her walk in the order with the other girls of where you want her. Mine just really helped out with set up. I think you should just include her as much as you can but not give her any big jobs to do on her own.
Having a FG and RB is up to you. If you don't have any smaller childern in the family or any friends with kids you would want to ask then don't stress about it. These days wedding parties are just pretty much whatever the couple wants them to be.

My eight year old niece (she's going to be 10 in December -- I can't believe it...though my oldest nephew is 18, so I guess it shouldn't be that surprising that she's grown up so fast!) was a junior bridesmaid because I too, am an awesome Aunt ;) I had two nieces younger than her (four and five at the time), and they were my flower girls. I had Bailey walk down the aisle right before the girls so she was on the end with the little girls. She wore the same dresses as my bridesmaids, just the little girl version with straps (and of course the tie was different. She did a fantastic job and was so excited to wear heels! Little ones with a thick heel, of course, but just the same she felt VERY grown up and was glad she wasn't a flower girl :) She didn't really do anything extra. I got her a small bouquet just like the bridesmaids so she was really just a mini-bridesmaid :) She loved it and looked beautiful that day, just like her cousin and little sister :)
Ahh they were so cute -- all three of them. It makes me want to have my wedding day again :p
I don't hear about many responsibilities for Jr's. unless you have something you would like her to do, if your not having a flower girl then the Jr. would walk in front of you, but Brides do what they want to do so the choice is yours.
