My boyfriend at the time - Josh - told me one week that we were going out to dinner with our friends on a Sunday (12/18/05) to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Their anniversary in actually in January - but they would be away for Christmas, so we were going a little early. He told me it was a surprise for my friend, so not to say anything, and I didn't want to ruin the surprise, so went along with the plans. When Sunday evening came along, he told me to dress nicely as it was a kind of dressy place we were going to, but wouldn't tell me exactly where. We started driving to dinner, and went to a restaurant called The Lucerne Inn - which is absolutely gorgeous! There are a few gazebos behind the restaurant that have gorgeous views of the mountains. We pulled in the parking lot and noticed we were there before our friends. Josh told me they have christmas trees down in the gazebos and wanted to go see them. So, we crunched through the snow in my heels and made it down to the gazebo. We talked a little when we got there and gave each other a big warm hug. He told me he loved me, and I said I love you back. At that moment, he dropped to his knees and said "do you love me enough to spend the rest of your life with me?" I couldn't believe the words I was hearing, and instantly had tears rushing to my eyes! I bent down and said of course I did, and he slipped the ring on my finger. We stayed outside for a few minutes just hugging and kissing and taking it all in. We then crunched back through the snow and had a beautiful candlelit dinner - just the two of us.:loveydovey:
