Which picture?

So i've decided its probably time to get our engagement announcement in the paper. We're less then a year out from our date after all. We have some pictures together...kinda complicated. My best friends husband is pretty good with the camera so we decided to have him take our engagement pictures before he left for basics. Well they didnt turn our as i had hoped. It was cold and windy and everything was still dead from winter....it wasnt quite spring yet when we had them taken. A lot of them arent even the type to send with an announcement...i'll show you when i mean below. We havent gotten them re done yet (i'm hoping to this Sunday though, so i may be able to use one of those if that happens) but if i get my info to the newspaper by Monday at 3 it'll be in the followings Sunday edition. Can i also ask how much it was to put in your announcement? I think for a 2x4 ad $45 (or a 2x2 for $25, but i think that's too small for a picture to look decent) is a little much so we may even decide not to put in our engagement but just our wedding since they are 2 seperate charges.

Anyway, I cant decide which picture to send with our info...

I like the first Sears pic too.

I don't know what's typical in your neck of the woods, but we put our engagement pic in the paper a year in advance only to find that people here do it 2-3 weeks before the wedding. Which makes no sense to me, but so it goes.

I'm going to say I like the 4th one and the first one from Sears, but I like the 4th one better because it's a more interesting picture with the backdrop. Although now that I think about it, the less busy backdrop might be better for a newspaper.

I'm with the others... I really like the fourth one and the first one from Sears. I think the Sears one would copy better into the paper though.

I really love all the pics. But to tell you the truth, well we didnt do the announcements in the paper for either the wedding or the engagement. It just wasnt worth it to me. All the people that I cared about already knew we were engaged and we invited them to the wedding. I just dont get the whole newspaper announcement thing. :shrug::headscratch:But that is just me. I rather save the money and spand it on something else....:twocents:

for a paper picture, i like the first sears one...
but for a save-the-date or engagement announcement to friends and family i love the very first and very last ones... they have so much more personality and love....

How did your redo session go? Typically you want to try to get a picture that has your heads level or very close to level, because they crop in right to your faces. If your faces are far apart, then they don't crop in very close, so you can't see your faces as well, does that make sense? For that reason I like the second one and both Sears' ones, though I'd probably go with one where your faces are even closer together.

The redo session went pretty well...up until his batteries went dead...about half an hour into it. We got a few good shots though. I am quite a bit disappointed in the editing though. One is obviously messed with and it wasnt covered very well. I resized it so it may not be quite as obvious. That picture is, of course, one of my favorites.
