If you live nearby a Harbor Freight (a discount tool chain), they're having a great sale on garden arbors. $8.99 each. If our reception venue didn't already come with two, I'd buy one!

I know how much we all love a good sale, so I thought I'd pass along the great info! :)

Sorry to hijack your thread, but another great deal is at Michael's Arts and Crafts stores. They have a 7' garden arch that's 8.99 but each week they have their 40% off coupon.

The only downside, the arch is green so you'll have to paint it white. But spray paint at Wal-Mart is 0.97!!!

No problem. I love great deals too. They also have their loose paper and cardstock 4 / $1.00!

I wish I lived near either one..

I just bought mine off ebay for $19.99 (total with shipping) cause its over an hour drive to Michaels or anything like that. With gas prices I know it would cost me more than $19.99 to drive to Tulsa and back.

Now my question is.. How do you decorate it?

 I'm leaving that up to my bridesmaid. She's doing all my flowers. I'll ask her though and see if I can post some directions. I know we're looking at buying a large roll of tulle and flowers. I think I have some inspiration pics. I'll post those in your journal as soon as I can find them again.

Oh! and Hobby Lobby has them also, I think even in white, for 20 bucks normally, but this week is their bridal blowout!

How do you decorate it?

You can decorate any way you'd like. I've usually seen them with a combination of tulle and silk flowers. Perhaps you want silk grapevines, or white lights wrapped around. The neat thing about arches is that, like a blank slate, you're only limited by your imagination. Perhaps someone has some great pictures they'd like to share....?

Hi hi-

Harbor Freight is a great store... my fiance used to be a manager at our local store. It's a really great idea for gifts too from the tool-using man... The arbors are nice, but you will have to paint them and they go on sale all the time.

here is a rough mock up of how I am decorating my arch but you can really do whatever you would like. I have seen them way more dresses up or way low key!

It will look way better for the actual thing! It also needed more ribbon and more flowers

did you strands of flowers to decorate? Or invidiual "stems" of flowers ?

I can set mine up in our spare bedroom and work on it but not sure what "type" flowers to look for. (I know I want red roses on it and possibly lights too).

I rarely get to Tulsa to the craft stores.. actually probably good idea cause they have so many great stuff I want :) So I gotta get stuff from walmart since its 20 minutes compared to over an hour :)

I used the garland on mine along with the wide ribbon! We finally bought the last garland we needed today! I would recommend using the garland! Walmart has great garland and such for a pretty good price!

I got my arch in today and got it assembled..

ITS HUGE !!!

How do I keep it from falling over ? Its so big that its flimsy..

I am going to try to take a couple of poles out of it later to see if it makes a difference. But it almost needs something for the legs to be inserted in.

Mine is GREEN..can I get spray paint or something to make it white?

I don't see why you couldn't spray paint it!! and we thought about making a holdler our of a 2x4 and putting screws in it for the legs to sit on. (I hope that makes since, if not let me know)!

A 2x4 might work.. I could paint it & maybe disguise it with something so u don't see it.

I took one set of bottom legs out of the arch and that made it a bit less flimsy.

Still need to buy decorations for it..

It arrived yesterday and I assembled it MYSELF last nite. I can use a screwdriver and follow directions.
